2016 Jaguar XF price, review, pictures

Apart from all-new XE, 2016 Jaguar XF is the only British maker’s model to shift generations for this year. XJ is supposed to do it next year, and all new F-Pace most likely won’t come before 2017. The new Jaguar XF 2016 is upgraded enough for design changes to be noticed, while it keeps things simple this time. There’s only a single powertrain offered this time, and apart from it, some new technology upgrades inside the cabin.

2016 Jaguar XF redesign

Apart from powertrain lineup downgrade, biggest news is weight savings. Rear-wheel drive models have shed 132 pounds, while all-wheel drive models have lost 265 pounds of their body. Car also grew couple of inches in wheelbase which means more room behind, but overall length has remained the same. Curved rectangular grille is still here, but lower air intake and foglight inlets are more rounded off. Arching roofline and midsection in all are sleek and elegant, and so is rear end with long, laid-back tail-lights. There are 17 different 2016 Jaguar XF colors, great for finicky buyers: Ammonite Grey, Aurora Red, Black Berry, British Racing Green, Celestial Black, Dark Sapphire, Ebony Black, Glacier White, Ingot, Italian Racing Red, Odyssey Red, Polaris White, Quartzite, Rhodium Silver, Storm Grey, Tempest Grey and Ultimate Black.

Interior is simple and straight to the point. Only premium grade leather will touch your body in this car, while upright dashboard is also completely covered in leather. From top to bottom, instrument panel’s arrangement is as follows: couple if slim airvents, new 10.2-inch touch screen display and other controls. Below them is Jaguar’s dial shifter in horizontal position, surrounded by wood. Apart from rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitors and other standard safety features, 2016 Jaguar XF gets optional adaptive cruise control and collision warning systems.

Jaguar XF 2016 specs

The new Jaguar XF 2016 doesn’t have plethora of choices in powertrain department any more. The only thing that remains is 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 engine, but additional units could join the lineup in the future. However, the only available engine comes in two forms. Base models deliver 340 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, while XF S models put up 380 horses and torque output remains the same. Both models get the same dial 8-speed automatic shifter, but their respective drivetrains differ. While XF is exclusively all-wheel driven, XS F gets the choice between rear and all-wheel drive.

2016 Jaguar XF mpg and price

Fuel economy figures are supposed to remain in the same range as before. The new Jaguar XF 2016 with rear-wheel system is supposed to be rated at 18 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, while all-wheel upgrade lowers the figures by a single point in both categories. Prices probably won’t change much and 2016 Jaguar XF, the British mid-size luxury sedan, will be available for between $60,000 and $100,000.
