The next generation of the LaCrosse model is going to show up soon, and it will be known as the 2016 Buick LaCrosse. The designers and engineers have done a great job with the restyled exterior, upgraded interior and a wider range of engines, ant the company claims that the new model will come more eye appealing and more competitive on the market. Furthermore, the new Buick LaCrosse 2016 will be based on the lightweight Omega II platform, and less weight, means better engine performance as well as better fuel economy.
2016 Buick LaCrosse changes
When it comes to the exterior, the new model will be bigger than the model it replaces and it will have a coupe-like look. As far as the rest of the changes are concerned, the 2016 Buick LaCrosse will come with a panoramic panel, sculpted side panels and totally rounded wheel arches, and the beltine that rises and finishes at the end of the back doors, forming the well know Buick shoulder. Furthermore, the vertical front lights will be LED powered, while the grille comes slightly bigger, and still with the recognizable “waterfall” design, with the Company logo in the middle. As for the wheels, newly designed 17-inch sets, will be also available.
As for the interior, the new platform gives the new model bigger size, and that means more space inside the cabin, as well as more comfort. Under the hood, the new Buick LaCrosse 2016 will come with a lineup of 2 engines. The previously used 3.6-liter V6 unit will again be there as standard one, and it is capable of generating up to 304 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque. Also available will be the hybrid system, which will come as a combination of the 2.4-liter inline-4 petrol engine, and the 15kW electric motor with the lithium-ion battery pack. This system will produce a combined output of 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. As for the transmission, both the V6 and the hybrid system will be paired with the 6-speed automatic gearbox, with the ability to be shifted manually as well.

The 2016 Buick LaCrosse base model comes with a base price of around $31,000, and the price will go up, depending on the selected trim level and optional equipment. Regarding the release date, the new model is available for buy in five trim levels LaCrosse 1SV (1SV), LaCrosse (1SB), Leather (1SL), Premium I (1SP) and Premium II (1SR). The new Buick LaCrosse 2016 will have main competitors in Hyundai Genesis, Toyota Avalon and Chevy Impala.
