2016 Nissan Titan news review

2016 Nissan Titan news review

The Titan is one of the oldest full-size pick-up trucks on the market today and this isn’t because Nissan didn’t want to update it but because the cost of doing it was just too big. Luckily though, the old Titan is going to receive a massive update in the next few years which is going to include a new engine, better interior options as well as a much greater towing capacity. The general quality of the 2016 Nissan Titan pickup truck should also increase while the price will most likely remain the same.

2016 Nissan Titan Redesign

On the outside, the 2016 Nissan Titan is going to get an updated look which will be similar to that of the older generation but it will also feature a few new design notes. It will bear the most resemblance to the new Navara, with cleaner and rounder lines and a more aggressive front end. The headlights will now use LED as standard while at the back, the tail lights will also get LED. The exhaust pipe will move to the side while the rear bumper will get a new design to give the car a better departure angle. Inside the Titan things will remain pretty familiar, the truck offering a lot more luxury than a normal one. The base model will have satellite navigation, premium cloth upholstery, automatic climate control, satellite radio, electric seats, mirrors and windows and even a rear view camera.

Nissan Titan 2016 diesel specs

Engine wise, the Nissan Titan 2016 is most likely going to abandon the current petrol engine. Reason for that is its lack of power and massive fuel consumption compared to its competitors. Instead, Nissan pickup truck will be moving to a Cummins developed 5.0-liter turbocharged V8 diesel which will deliver 300 horsepower and more than 500 lb-ft of torque. With higher values of torque 2016 Nissan Titan towing capacity will raise up to more than 14,000 pounds while fuel consumption will drop down up to 25% than the petrol counterpart. This is a major advantage over the other heavy duty pickup trucks out there. This engine is going to be mated to a new 6-speed automatic which will replace the old 5-speed unit and power will deliver either to the rear-wheel- or to an all-wheel-drive system.

2016 Nissan Titan release date and price

The release date for this new 2016 Nissan Titan is going to be some time in the end of 2015 or the early 2016 which is just in time for the new trucks from their competitors. The base price is going to be around $30,000 for the starting model and up to $50,000 for a special edition. More information about new Nissan Titan 2016 pickup truck will be revealed at next Detroit Auto Show that starts in January 2015.
