2016 Nissan Armada Redesign, Review, Pictures

Nissan Armada is a full-size SUV vehicle, which was first presented in 2003, as the 2004 year model. Even than it was a brand new model, it was already then outdated, and while it received some refreshments in 2010 and 2013, it still couldn’t compete with the rest of the competition in its class. It is expected that the new-generation model will be presented at the same time as the Frontier pick-up truck, which will come with a similar platform, and the 2016 Nissan Armada will be totally redesigned.

2016 Nissan Armada redesign

The Armada model was designed 12 years ago, and despite the fact that in the meantime, it suffered some light redesigns, it still doesn’t come with a modern look. And because of that, the new Nissan Armada 2016 will receive a fully redesigned exterior. The final arrival date of this new model is still unknown, but we are pretty sure that the existing square and outdated appearance will be replaced with some fresh, futuristic and way more eye-appealing design.

As far as the interior is concerned, it will also come with significant upgrades. It will have a very modern design, fitted with premium quality materials as well as the latest high-tech features. Furthermore, the new cabin will offer much more space and comfort for both the driver and passengers. The seats will be upholstered with leather and ventilated, and the 2016 Nissan Armada will be able to accommodate up to 8 adult passengers. The technology features will include the Bose audio system, Radio Data system, Smartphone, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity, a big touch screen display and the latest infotainment system.

Nissan Armada 2016 diesel specs

Since it first appeared on the market, the Armada was offered with a single engine choice, the big 5.6-liter V8 engine, capable of delivering 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque. Even with the fact that it produces a huge amount of power, this unit is not adequate for todays standards, since it has low fuel economy ratings and big gas emissions. The new Nissan Armada 2016 is expected to be equipped with some smaller, but more powerful and more effective V6 engine. It is expected that the new model will come in a hybrid version as well. The current 5-speed automatic transmission is uncertain for now, but it is quite possible that the 2016 Armada will be equipped with some new, a lot more up to date gearbox. There are some rumors about Cummins 5.0-liter V8 turbo diesel engine that will be borrowed from Titan pickup truck which will be released this summer. This means that towing capacity could raise over current 9,000 pounds.

2016 Nissan Armada price and release date

As far as the price of the new 2016 Nissan Armada is concerned, it ought to be available for a price of around $40,000 for the base model. The expectations are that the new Nissan full-size SUV will be presented at the end of this year or the beginning of the 2016, but that hasn’t been officially confirmed for now. The 2016 Nissan Armada main competitors will be Ford Expedition, Toyota Sequoia and Chevy Tahoe.
