2016 Lincoln MKC changes, specs, price

The important part of the Lincoln’s strategy of presenting new cars on the market by 2018, is also the 2016 Lincoln MKC model. This luxury crossover SUV is going to be presented with some slight changes in the 2015 model, which will include a few features that will give it an advantage over its rivals as well as to offer it with an even better appearance. The MKC was first presented in 2014 as a 2015 model, so we can freely say that it is still quite new, but the company is already planning on upgrading it, mostly because the rival companies are offering a few things which the MKC didn’t have.

2016 Lincoln MKC changes

The outside look of the new 2016 Lincoln MKC will mostly remain similar to that of the previous model. There will be some minor redesigns applied on the front and back of the car, in order to make it more modern, while the hybrid model will come with its unique set of wheels and new features.

As far as the interior of the 2016 Lincoln MKC is concerned, it will come pretty much the same as the 2015 model’s. The only changes that will be done are planned for the hybrid model, which will come with an additional 8-inch screen for the SAT/NAV. The standard features will include dual zone automatic climate, a premium audio system and leather upholstery.

Lincoln MKC 2016 specs

Under the hood, there will be a change. The base engine will again be the 230 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque EcoBoost, while the most powerful is still the 2.3-liter EcoBoost with the ability to produce 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. The mentioned change will be a brand new hybrid system, which will make its debut with the 2016 model. Not much information is available regarding this system, but the expectations are that it will be a 2.0 l aspirated inline-4 in a combination with an electric motor. This system will produce a maximum output of 190 hp and 122 lb-ft of torque in petrol mode, or 300 lb-ft of torque in hybrid mode. The two petrol units will be paired with a 6-speed automatic and FWD, while the AWD will be optional. The hybrid is expected to come with either a 6-speed automatic or a CVT.
