2016 GMC Yukon changes, price, mpg


First generation of GMC Yukon was released on the market approximately ten years ago and since them it has become one the most favorable full-size SUV vehicles on the North American territory. It shares name with river Yukon which flows from Canada to America and it is produced by special General Motors division. On the first sight it takes after Chevrolet Tahoe, but if you look under the hood you will notice things are pretty much different. GMC didn’t significantly transform the outlook but the company decided to make new 2016 GMC Yukon more powerful. Engine performances have been brought to a higher level, with more horsepower and pound-feet of torque. Maybe it doesn’t seem attractive but we advise you to look closely.

2016 GMC Yukon changes

The new GMC Yukon 2016 will come in several different types: XL, SLE and SLT. Exterior design won’t be change too much, only grille and taillights are going to be slightly redesigned. As any other full-size SUV, new 2016 Yukon will have three rows of seats that are able to accommodate seven passengers. Safety has been brought to a higher level with features such as park assistance at the front as well as at the back, collision alert system, extra airbags and many more. Standard equipment includes: GPS system, USB, 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, etc. In conclusion, outlook of the 2016 GMC Yukon is not too much different than 2015 version.

GMC Yukon 2016 specs

The new GMC Yukon 2016 will probably come with two different engine choices. Both are Ecotec3 engines hence impact on the environment is reduced to a minimum. First option is 5.3-liter 8-cylinder with relatively high fuel consumption (18 miles per gallon on the highway and 16 mpg in the city). However, power is way better comparing to a previous model. The 2016 Yukon will be able to produce 355 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. On the other, one more engine could be released. That would probably be 6.2-liter eight-cylinder which can develop 420 horses and 610 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will come with all-wheel drive system and automatic transmission without any indications manual transmission will be offered.

2016 GMC Yukon release date and price

Allegedly, new 2016 GMC Yukon will hit the market sooner than expected. According to rumors this will happen in following months, or in the middle of 2015. Price will be different and it will depend on the model. Basic model will cost around $47,000 and it will go up to $58,500 for SLT type, which is in the range of the other full-size SUV prices on the market. The 2016 GMC Yukon in SLE trim level will probably cost around $50,000.
