2017 Lincoln Navigator price, redesign, release date

2017 Lincoln Navigator price, redesign, release date – The Navigator is a great full-size luxury crossover with a body-on-frame chassis and all the comfort you could want. However, unfortunately it is one of the oldest designs in the industry with the current model being on the market since 2007 and its chassis and body remained pretty much unchanged since the early 2003. At first, the Navigator was supposedly going to be updated with the 2015 model year but Lincoln only introduced a new engine choice which is great but it is not enough in order to make it comparable with the newer cars in its class. Because of this, the Navigator is actually going to be completely revised with the new Lincoln Navigator 2017 model year with the new model being lighter, more powerful as well as better looking.

2017 Lincoln Navigator release date

At this point in time there are not that many details about the upcoming 2017 Lincoln Navigator but it seems that it will take the same path as the F-150, meaning it will finally receive the all-new aluminum body which everyone was expecting, it will now use a new chassis which will be made mostly out of high strength steel as well as some aluminum which will increase its rigidity and lower the total weight even more while the engine choice is going to be overhauled completely. The release date for the new model has been set some time in the mid of 2016 and the Navigator should be ready for sale for the 2017 model year.

New Lincoln Navigator 2017 specs

Under the hood of the new Lincoln Navigator 2017 the brand new 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 is likely going to be replaced with another 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6. However, this time, the new engine will come from the Raptor rather from the F-150, so it will make more power and torque than before. Early rumors suggest that this new engine could make more than 440 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque which is right where most of its competitors are. The fuel consumption will also improve tremendously thanks to the fact that the Navigator will shed at least 900 pounds of weight. The engine is going to be mated to Ford’s all new 10-speed automatic which first debuted on the Raptor and it will be mated either to the rear or to an all wheel drive system. In any case, the performance should be solid with a 0 to 60 MPH time of around 5 seconds and a limited top speed of 110 MPH.

2017 Lincoln Navigator redesign

The exterior of the new Navigator is going to be the part of the car which is going to impress us the most because the new model is going to look like nothing ever before. It will still be a full size crossover but this time it will be slightly shorter, wider and lower than before, so we shall expect a sportier look from Lincoln. On top of that, the off-road capabilities are not going to be lost because an air suspension system is likely going to be installed in order to offer the car a self-leveling feature as well as an adjustable ground clearance.

Inside the cabin, the 2017 Lincoln Navigator will remain just as impressive as before but this time it will only feature six passenger spots on six individual seats which are going to provide a greater amount of comfort as well as more room for luggage despite the smaller exterior dimensions. Just like with the other models from Ford and Lincoln, the new Lincoln Navigator 2017 will receive Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment and navigation system and on top of that it will feature the best Lincoln has to offer such as leather upholstery, wood or aluminum inserts, real glass touch screen and even leather covered dashboard with a soft touch material under the leather for a sponge-like effect.
