The 2016 Acura NSX is the new model of the vehicle that’s been on hold since its discontinuation in 2005. Before this was one of the most famous vehicles in Acura range, and ever since its discontinuation Nissan GT-R took its title of being the hottest Asian supercar. New model comes with improved performance and completely new design made in Honda design center in Ohio. The Acura NSX 2016 was presented on 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Before its debut it was seen a few times during 2014 on Nurburing while being tested.
Exterior of 2016 Acura NSX
New exterior design comes with some classic Acura design features that we also saw on 2013 concept version of this model. The 2016 Acura NSX has a really big Acura styled grille with the same bumper configuration and the lower air dams, both of which came with the concept version two years ago. There are also some design differences from the concept version, such as the new LED headlight scheme which comes with 6 stripes rather than 5. There are also some new metallic blades placed in between grille and side intakes. Profile changed the most and now it comes with a leaned forward look, together with the side vents and vents on the wheel arches gives a really powerful image. There are no many updates on the back, and new Acura NSX 2016 comes with large diffuser and some more vents, and the taillights look the same as the ones seen on the 2013 concept version.
2016 Acura NSX Interior
Previously mentioned concept version’s interior looked much more luxurious and elegant than the interior seen in 2016 Acura NSX. There’s no more the old rich Alcantra leather upholstery or carbon fiber surfaces that are replaced with aluminum inserts. Alcantra comes only as a seat stripe and the rest of the seat upholstery is made out of some regular leather. When it comes to interior design new Acura NSX 2016 comes with very friendly looking central console and the climate control vents that came in totally different design. Acura still doesn’t talk about the hi-tech features placed inside this vehicle.
Acura NSX 2016 specs
The 2016 Acura NSX will come with much more power and acceleration than both concept versions from 2013 and of course the 2005 old NSX. There’s not many information about the new engine, but we know that it is going to be the twin turbocharged V6 internal combustion engine, combined with electric motors and lithium ion battery. When it comes to transmission new model will come with the futuristic 9-speed DCT which is going to be placed in the rear, while the V6 engine is going to be placed in the middle, and the electric motors are going to power the front axle. We expect new engine to come with at least 550 horsepower, which is much stronger engine than any other we saw in Acura before.
2016 Acura NSX price and release date
As we said earlier GT-R is the main rival of the 2016 Acura NSX and we all know that the new model is not going to be able to compete with Nissan when it comes to price. New Acura supercar will probably cost around $120,000 which is less than most of other supercars, but far more than Nisan GT-R. Production will start this fall while Acura NSX 2016 will hit the roads till the end of 2015.

Loving the NSX – great lines and a beautiful inoiertr revealed. I see how these “leaked” pics magically appeared in an attempt to steal some thunder from the all new Corvette Stingray.The NSX was my favorite sports car however it will likely be TWICE the PRICE of a Stingray. I’ve chosen the Corvette for now and will acquire an NSX down the road.
